LanternFalls Privacy Policy
LanternFalls is a garden merge puzzle game made by Hammertime Consulting LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the game stores, what our partners collect when you choose to watch an ad or make a purchase, and the choices you have. LanternFalls has no accounts: we never ask for your name, email address, or contacts.
1. What stays on your device
Your game progress, petals, decorations, settings, and daily reward claims are saved on your device only. We do not upload them to our servers. If you uninstall the game or clear its app data, this progress is deleted and we cannot restore it.
2. Optional rewarded ads (Google AdMob)
The game offers one optional rewarded ad on the Daily screen. If you choose to watch it, you receive bonus petals (at most once per day). Ads are served by Google AdMob, part of Google LLC, through the Google Mobile Ads SDK built into the app.
Because LanternFalls is rated for ages 4 and up, ads are configured to comply with Google Play's Families policy: ads shown in the game are appropriate for a general audience including children, and personalized advertising is disabled. Google does not use personal data to personalize the ads shown in LanternFalls.
When the ad SDK runs, Google may collect and process:
- Device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID (or Apple's advertising identifier on iPhone, only if you allow tracking);
- Your IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- Ad interaction data (which ads were shown and whether you completed them);
- Diagnostic and performance data about the ad SDK.
Google uses this data to deliver, measure, and protect against fraud in ads. Google's use is governed by Google's own policies: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
3. Your consent and privacy choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the game shows Google's consent message (the User Messaging Platform) before any ad is requested, and ads are only requested as your choices allow. You can review or change your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy Choices in the game.
On Android you can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in your device's Google settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device). On iPhone, you can control tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
The game is fully playable without ever watching an ad.
4. In-app purchases
If you buy something in the game, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play (on Android) or the App Store (on iPhone). We never see or store your card or payment details. The app receives a purchase confirmation from Google or Apple (which item, and a purchase token) so it can unlock what you bought on your device. Google's and Apple's own privacy policies cover the payment itself.
5. Ratings prompt
The game may occasionally show Google Play's or Apple's built-in "rate this app" prompt. That prompt is run by Google or Apple; we do not receive your rating or review through it.
6. Anonymous usage measurement
The app counts opens using a random, per-install identifier stored on your device, plus the app version and the day you opened it, to measure how many players return. No account, no advertising identifier, no personal information, and no third-party analytics SDK. This measurement is first-party only and is never shared with advertisers.
7. Push notifications (opt-in)
If you turn on notifications, the app registers with Apple Push Notification service and receives a device token. We store that token together with a random install identifier and the date you opted in, for the sole purpose of delivering the notifications you asked for. We do not link the token to your identity, use it for advertising, sell it, or share it with any third party. You will receive at most 2 notifications per week, never between 10 PM and 6 AM Eastern. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings; when you do, we delete your token. Notifications are entirely optional and the game plays fully without them.
8. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not create accounts or collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location.
9. Children
LanternFalls is rated for ages 4 and up and may be used by children. We comply with Google Play's Families policy and applicable children's privacy laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
What this means in practice:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The game has no accounts, no chat, and no way for children to share personal information with us.
- Ads in the game are configured for a children's audience: no personalized advertising, and only age-appropriate ad content as required by the Families policy.
- Our first-party usage measurement uses only an anonymous per-install identifier with no personal information and is never shared with third parties.
For parents and guardians: if you believe your child has provided personal information through the game, or if you want any data associated with your child's device deleted, contact us at the address below. We will respond promptly and delete the information. You can also delete all game data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its app data.
10. Security and retention
Game data stays on your device until you delete the app or its data. Data collected by Google for ads is retained under Google's policies. Anonymous usage records are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how the game handles data, we will update this page and its effective date before the change ships in an app update.
