In the app
Paste text into ScrubPHI, review each finding it highlights, then copy the scrubbed version. You see what was found — and what was changed — before you copy anything.
ScrubPHI detects and redacts personal and health identifiers in text — names, contact details, dates, and ID numbers — entirely on your iPhone. Nothing you paste, type, or scrub ever leaves the device.

Illustrative example only. ScrubPHI shows you every finding so you can review — and adjust — before anything is copied or shared.
Always review before you share. ScrubPHI is a best-effort helper, not a guarantee. Automated detection can miss an identifier — especially names in unusual spellings or formats. Read the scrubbed text once before you send, paste, or publish it.
Use whichever fits the moment — in the app, from another app, or right where you're typing. All three run the same on-device detection.
Paste text into ScrubPHI, review each finding it highlights, then copy the scrubbed version. You see what was found — and what was changed — before you copy anything.
In another app, select text and tap Share, then choose ScrubPHI. The text is scrubbed and returned to you ready to copy or share onward — without opening the main app first.
The ScrubPHI keyboard scrubs where you already type, in any app. Highlight what you've written and scrub it in place, before you hit send.
Works with Allow Full Access offScrubPHI handles sensitive text, so it was built to have nothing to leak: no connection to make, no account to breach, no data to collect.
Remove or edit the missed item yourself before sharing, and double-check the rest of the text once more. Name recognition in particular is best-effort: unusual spellings, nicknames, lowercase names, and names that look like ordinary words are the hardest to catch automatically.
If ScrubPHI warns that name checking is degraded, treat the result with extra care — detection is working with reduced capability in that moment, and copying or inserting from the keyboard may be paused until it recovers. Review the text manually, or try again shortly.
Found a pattern it keeps missing? Email us the type of identifier it missed (please don't send the actual sensitive text) at Hammertimeconsultingllc@gmail.com so we can improve detection.
No. ScrubPHI makes zero network requests. All detection and redaction happen on your device, there are no accounts, and there is no analytics. The on-device audit log records only finding types and counts — never the text — and you can clear it in the app at any time.
No. The ScrubPHI keyboard is designed to work with Allow Full Access turned off. You do not need to grant it broader access for scrubbing to work where you type.
Select the text in the other app, tap Share, and choose ScrubPHI. The scrubbed result is handed back to you to review, copy, or share onward. Always give it a quick read before sending it on.
ScrubPHI requires iOS 17 or later on iPhone. If the app doesn't appear in the App Store for your device, check that you're running iOS 17 or newer under Settings → General → Software Update.
No tool can promise that. ScrubPHI is a best-effort helper that catches the identifiers it's designed to find, but you are the final check. Always review scrubbed text before sharing — especially names, and especially whenever the app indicates name checking is degraded.
Email support and we'll get back to you. Please describe the issue and your iOS version — but never include the actual sensitive text you're trying to scrub.
